Loving Lash Extensions
What are lash extensions?
Lash extensions are semi-permanent and help you achieve fuller, longer, curlier lashes. One extension is dipped into an adhesive and is placed on to one natural lash. These lashes can be synthetic, faux mink, or silk.
Will they make my natural lashes fall out and not grow back?
False. When extensions are applied properly, they will not cause damage to the natural lashes. Damage can occur when the extension is too heavy, too thick, or is glued to more than one natural lash.

Do extensions hurt?
Extensions will not hurt if applied correctly. If pain or discomfort is experienced, it is usually due to incorrect placement or poor application.
How often do they need filled?
It is recommended to get a fill every 2-4 weeks. Everyone has a different growth cycle for their lashes. How quickly your lashes grow will determine the length of time before a fill.
Who would not be a good candidate?
If you have sensitive eyes, extensions may irritate the eyes. As the adhesive bonds, it gives off fumes which can irritate sensitive eyes. A “patch” test is the best way to see how the eyes will react to extensions. A few lashes will be placed on each eye and worn for a few days. If there are no reactions or major sensitivities, you’re good to go!
If you have alopecia, extensions should not be worn. This could further damage the brittle lashes.
Anyone with healthy eyes, healthy eyelashes, and healthy skin around the eyes would be a good candidate for extensions! Always let your lash artist know of any medical conditions that could effect the area.
How long is the application?
In the beginning and learning stages, application can take up to three hours. As the lash artist gains more experience, application will become faster. Fills take anywhere from 1-2 hours depending on the length of time since the last appointment.
Aftercare plays a vital role in the retention of your lash extensions. Lashes will stay looking fabulous longer if they are well taken care of.
